General Services Assistant

The job incumbent performs a range of administrative duties to facilitate the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the Credit & Risk Department. Reporting directly to the Manager, Credit & Risk, the position holder engages in the performance of several supporting tasks designed to support the operational objectives of the Credit & Risk Department.
To perform this function successfully, the General Services Assistant must understand the responsibilities, needs and priorities of the Credit & Risk Department. The job holder must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and diplomacy regarding all company information, as he/she executes the undermentioned tasks:-
§    Enters direct payments, credit advices and receipts into the Collection Agency Management System (CAMS) software/database and print invoices.
§    Extracts status reports for clients on a monthly basis or as needed.
§    Prints Judgment pages and payment listings.
§    Pre-checks and prepares Credit Bureau Invoices for submission to Accounts Department.
§    Enters and/or processes Credit Bureau Inquiries as required.
§    Prepares Credit Bureau Letters, Non-Indebtedness Letters and other required letters as directed.
§    Performs  research  for  the  relevant  departments  including  internet  searches,  business  searches  and database searches.
§    Assists with client relations and sales including prospecting, responding to client queries, disseminating sales and marketing materials.
§    Follows up on outstanding receivables for the Credit and Risk Department.
§    Collates  data/information  to  prepare  various  reports  for  the  Credit  and  Risk  Departments  on  a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
§    Provide relief within the Credit and Risk Departments as or when required.
§    Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Job Requirements

§    A minimum five [5] GCE O’ Levels [Grade A, B or C] or five [5] CXC/CSEC General Proficiency [Grades I or II] [Mathematics and English compulsory]
§    An Advanced Diploma in Business Administration/Management would be considered an asset
§    Working knowledge of the company’s business profile, products, services and overall industry
§    Sound knowledge of modern office management practices
§    Working knowledge of sales, marketing and advertising principles and techniques
§    A minimum (3) three years working experience in a similar capacity
§    Proven experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with particular emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook
