Description

• Supervise garage staff ( Mechanics, wash bay attendant, handyman, drivers, stores clerk etc) to ensure safety and upkeep of tools and equipment is present at all times.
• Organise daily work schedules to adhere to a preventative maintenance schedule is maintained on soft copy and records are easily accessible.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with diesel engines.
• Champion and uphold HSE policies and procedures
• Participate & Assist in Accident Investigation & Reporting on a timely basis. No delay greater than 48 hours between date of accident and submission of reports.
• Liaise with external service providers and have this documented. Email, text, whats app to follow up when phone calls take place.
• Order, receive and inspect vehicle parts and ensure safe custody and storage.
• Inspect & verify vehicle repairs / maintenance conducted.
• Continuously conduct JSA’s and RA’s
• Assist in identifying hazards and identify control measures.
• Perform administrative tasks as required
• Stand in for Manager, when required and assume the duties and responsibilities
• Be on call for emergencies and breakdowns
• Any other duties as assigned by Waste Division Lead and Directors

• Three or more CSEC passes, Grade 3 and above, including Mathematics and English
• Accredited certification in Auto Diesel Mechanics
• Knowledge of Tyre Management & applications
• Good working knowledge or certification in Hydraulic operating systems
• HSE training
• Police Certificate of Good Character
• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to motivate and manage performance in subordinates without use of threats
• Ability to train subordinates.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• Ability to understand instructions and carry out effectively.
• Communicate challenges/feedback on a timely basis.
