Job Summary
The Work Room Operator operates sewing machines to stitch fabric, leather, and materials according to specifications. They follow patterns, inspect finished products, and perform sewing machine maintenance. The duties include sewing and garment construction experience, paying attention to detail, and meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sewing machines to stitch fabric, leather, and other materials.
- Follow patterns and instructions to ensure accurate stitching.
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency.
- Perform regular maintenance on sewing machines.
- Collaborate with designers and other team members to ensure products meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines and other basic stitching equipment.
- Knowledge of different types of fabrics and their properties.
- Understanding of basic sewing techniques, such as hemming, seaming, and stitching.
- Ability to read and interpret simple sewing patterns.
- Attention to detail and precision in stitching.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
