Description


The Accounting Assistant has the responsibility of verifying deposit bags vaulted by the Company. Additionally, the position holder must maintain an accurate record of all deposits made on behalf of the Company in accordance with Company Policy.

Specific Duties:
  • Receive cash bags each morning ensuring that the quantity of bag slips agrees with the quantity of cash bags and informs the Assistant Depot Manager/Business Unit Manager and Financial Controller immediately of variances.
  • Extracts relevant data from the Daily Cash Report and receipt books and ensures that the Cash Book is balanced on a daily and a monthly basis. Submits Cash Book to Assistant Depot Manager/Business Unit Manager – Cash Balancing for verification before the end of business day.
  • Maintains a filing system for the easy and speedy recovery of all Daily Cash Reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer cheques from non D.C.R. sales in the cheque notebook.
  • Prepares a daily excel spreadsheet and submits to the Junior Accountant, Accounting Assistant-Sales, Senior Accountant and Financial Controller.
  • Investigate immediately all variances with respect to the Cashing function and inform the Assistant Depot Manager/Business Unit Manager and the Financial Controller of all resolved as well as unresolved variances.
Weekly Payroll: Drivers (Thursdays)

- Reviews the time sheets for all drivers and ensures the following:
  1. Signatures correspond with driver’s name
  2. Sign in and sign out times are accurate
  3. Supervisors have initial time sheets
initials same and submits to the Administrative and Assistant Depot Manager/Business Unit Manager for verification and approval before dispatching to the Company’s head office.
