SporTT is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the following position: OFFICER, MONITORING AND EVALUATION
JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent will play a critical role in generating and implementing a mixed method approach of monitoring and evaluating a range of programmes/projects/activities being conducted by the Community Sports Department. The portfolio will be required to conduct formative, process and outcome evaluations to provide valuable insights on successes, areas for improvement and sustainability of the outreach activities in Communities, Schools, Cricket and the I Choose Sport initiative while ensuring all materials are in alignment with the mandate of SporTT
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and implementation of an effective monitoring and evaluation plan using relevant quantitative and qualitative tools to consistently collect, collate and analyse data relevant to activities being conducted by the Community Sports Department.
- Provide structured reports on formative, process and outcome monitoring and evaluation exercises conducted for programmes/projects/activities to utilise in the strengthening of evidence-based decision making.
- Participate in cross-departmental collaboration to facilitate gathering baseline data, developing, testing and adapting monitoring tools for the outreach activities in Communities, Schools, Cricket and the I Choose Sport initiative in accordance with the mandate of SporTT.
- Conduct site visits and field work necessary for effective execution of monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Produce high-quality documentation of data collection allowing for accurate interpretation.
- Participate in the review of monitoring and evaluation strategies utilised by the Community Sports Department for programmes/projects/activities.
- Assist with ensuring all monitoring and evaluation outcomes are optimised within the Community Sports Department to drive continuous improvement of services being delivered.
- Contribute to stakeholder management through networking, cultivating meaningful interactions and long-term collaboration.
- Foster effective departmental communication, facilitate inter-departmental collaboration and knowledge sharing through efficient management of the Community Sport Department intranet page.
- Demonstrate the ability to balance stakeholder expectations with the resource availability and the mandate of SporTT.
- Effectively address media crises or challenges in a timely and efficient manner to safeguard the SporTT’s brand.
- Performs duties in keeping with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures.
- Create a harmonious working environment
- Generate accurate and timely reports on all qualitative and quantitative data collection exercises to allow for performance tracking of the Community Sports Department in relation to the overarching goals and targets.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A recognised University Degree in one of the Social Sciences, such as Public Sector Management or Project Management; or in a related field from a recognised University
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of (5) years’ experience in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of the structure and delivery mechanism of sport – education, institution and national levels.
- Knowledge and experience with formative, process and outcome evaluation.
- Knowledge and experience with analysing quantitative and/or qualitative data.
- Ability to present information in a clear, concise and confident manner while utilising different types of communication to enhance the overall impact of information.
- Must have excellent written skills, with a proven track record in producing high quality reports.
- Knowledge in the principles involved in the areas of financial management, strategy development, policy formulation and project management.
- Ability to express ideas orally or in writing in individual or group situations.
- Ability to seek ways to continuously improve external and internal customer satisfaction with product or service quality and on-time delivery.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and members of the public.
- Ability to proactively acquire necessary technical knowledge, skills and judgment to perform job more effectively.
