NATURE & SCOPE

Lead and manage a Quality Assurance Team in the Information Technology Department. Process owner for the quality assurance area. Ensure that there are no gaps between quality release and quality perceived by the end users for all software releases. This position will be based in Trinidad.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Establish and evolve formal quality assurance processes and oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Provide innovative leadership in implementation of improved/standardized QA techniques.
  • Act as key point of contact for all quality assurance aspects of releases, providing quality assurance services and coordinating quality assurance resources.
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures.
  • Participate in technical and functional design meetings to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clearly defined and testable.
  • Prepare detailed schedules with target dates for work and prioritizes and monitor activities.
  • Provide timely updates and elevate critical risks to project manager, management and senior-executive teams.
  • Lead and mentor team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
  • Perform any other duties not mentioned herein.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Proven track record of leading strategic projects combined with the ability to execute at tactical project-level activities and tasks.
  • Demonstrable experience as a change agent having effectively implemented change in large cross functional organization.
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly. Eagerness to learn new things.
  • Ability to identify and write test scenarios, test cases and scripts as needed.
  • Responsible for test project status reporting, defect tracking and risk assessments.
  • Facilitate project-related testing, roll-out, and lessons learned work.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and SQL scripting desired.
  • Familiarity with test automation tools desired.
  • Familiarity with property and casualty insurance business is a plus.
  • Fluency in English. Bi-lingual in Spanish will be an asset.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and three years of experience or
  • Six years of experience in a similar role. 
  • CAST, CSTE or other industry-specific certifications preferred.
