Job Summary
 
The ideal candidate should be excited about the opportunity to identify and capture new business opportunities
 
The ideal candidate should have several years of experience in financial management of project and putting together bids for new work and negotiating contracts in collaboration with the Company’s relevant subject matter experts and Board of Directors.
 
The successful candidate will have a track record of success in overseeing the company’s financial portfolio and overseeing all commercial aspects of projects from inception to completion and identifying and mitigating risks involved
 
The successful candidate must have great communication, teamwork, leadership and analytical skills
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and assure the development and maintenance of robust standard Financial and Accounting procedures and practices, including compliance with all Corporate statutory reporting requirements
  • Analyze marketing, finance and other operational reports to gain and provide insights and recommendations into how to improve performance and maximize business growth opportunities.
  • Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant Company SME’s
  • Assist in the identification of opportunities to expand the business, including through partnerships and new markets
  • Assess the commercial risks associated with new initiatives are identified, develop and recommend mitigation strategies and actions and, be ready to handle unexpected situations
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and monitor and report on Company Financial performance against established objectives
  • Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
  • Collaborate and provide leadership in the preparation of financial and other commercial proposals in support of negotiations with prospective business partners, including financial institutions.
  • Communication with clients to:
    - ensure client requirements are understood and met
    - address complaints and appeals
  • Manages the following functions within the Finance Department by ensuring that all operations are undertaken in a timely and accurate manner and that all records, statements and reports are entered, produced, submitted and filed in accordance with approved operating procedures:
    - Accounts Payables
    - Accounts Receivable
  • Ensures that all reports, payments and statements are prepared, completed and submitted to relevant stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner, as required by law, regulations and/or Company Operating procedures which includes but is not limited to:
    - Detailed monthly management accounts including full P&L, Balance Sheet, Revenue Analysis, Expense analysis, comparison of performance against budget and cash flow report
    - Financial Reports to the Managing Director
    - Statutory Reports and Payments
    - Ad-hoc reports for Banks and other financial institutions.
  • Arranges for equity and debt financing as required
  • Oversees external, internal and statutory audits to ensure compliance with Auditor requirements and to support the timely completion of same, this includes but is not limited to the preparing of schedules and documents as requested by the Company’s External Auditors.
  • Provide financial support and guidance as necessary to all non-financial managers.
  • Oversee the management of the Finance Dept. including resource planning, delegation of duties and performance management,
  • Promoting staff adherence to the company’s rules and regulations and issuance of disciplinary actions as per the company’s employee policy manual where necessary.

Academic qualifications/ Experience:
  • ACCA certified
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Finance/ Commercial role
  • Industry experience is a definite asset
