Job Summary:            
The Brand Manager is responsible for planning, developing, directing the marketing strategy and effort and managing the distribution of the assigned Brand and product lines throughout Trinidad & Tobago, including placing orders to ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained to service sales, identifying and developing new business opportunities.  He/she is accountable for turnover, distribution, promotions, merchandising and call coverage while maintaining a high level of customer service in accordance with budget requirements and overall company policy, to improve commercial performance and maximize sales and profits through effective utilisation of personnel and other available resources.
 
 
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible and accountable for leading business development efforts by identifying and developing new business opportunities and driving distribution of the Brands
  • Negotiates with suppliers to ensure that the company gets the best possible deal to maximise profit margin.
  • Meets with retailers on a regular basis to present the new products and convince them to stock products and build our brand(s) within their stores or business places. 
  • Develops and implements ‘added value’ in-store promotions and demonstrations to reinforce our brand values and drive consumer demand for the products thus demonstrating and reinforcing the retailer decisions to stock our products.
  • Maintains and develops existing and new customers’ business through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.
  • Is accountable for managing customers, including establishing strategies and promotional activities to close opportunities, visiting customers to determine needs, requirements and preferences.
  • Conducts market research, competitor and customer surveys as required to determine target market.
  • Responsible for establishing/ developing sales targets and determining order levels in collaboration with the Sales Manager and for achieving sales and spending objectives.
  • Ensures that price, distribution, assortment, promotion and merchandising guidelines and objectives are met at store level.
  • Ensures that promotions are on-going, planned and executed properly and the effective use of POP material wherever allowed.
  • Responsible for allocating and implementing the field monthly priorities per area.
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies, guidelines, instructions, directions.
  • Monitors and analyses competitive activities (promotions, pricing, listings) and actual sales of assigned brand/s and product lines and prepares monthly reports to provide relevant management information.
  • Ensures all work is up to date and submits a Hand-over Report detailing all pending/outstanding matters requiring follow-up to the Sales Manager before proceeding on any extended leave.
  • Responsible for managing inventory which includes reconciliation and re-ordering operations of the business and storage in company’s and customers’ warehouse always ensuring that all damaged and expired products are removed from outlet.
  • Performs other relevant duties as may be required from time to time.
 
 
 
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Marketing
  • At least three (3) years business development, marketing or sales experience in food distribution or related industry.
  • Valid Drivers License and own vehicle in good working and road worthy condition
