ACCOUNTANT
 
To provide relevant and reliable financial information to those in authority (MFA, CEO, Chair of the Audit Committee and the Board of Directors) and ensure the Company’s assets are safeguarded through the implementation and monitoring of systems of internal controls within the accounting function.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Verify and approve transactions initiated by the Accountant Assistant  including monthly payroll computation and wire transfers for wage payments, accounting data entry, deposits, and approve petty cash reconciliations including monthly cash counts.
  • Prepare monthly adjusting journal entries for data entry into accounting software.
  • Monitor and maintain fixed asset register
  • Prepare and/or review all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly management accounts by the end of the first week of the reporting period.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements with analytical notes on variances to the audit committee by 10 working days following the reporting period.
  • Format financial reports
  • Prepare annual financial statements, audit schedules and liaise with independent auditors and external consultants for the execution of the annual financial audit.
  • Prepare annual budget report and budget working papers
  • Prepare quarterly working paper computations for taxation obligations.
  • Prepare taxation schedules for preparation of annual tax return.
  • Scrutinize records management and filing of source data.
  • Sundry duties as assigned
 
Education and Job Experience
  • ACCA or equivalent professional designation
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in the management of an accounting environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP will be an asset
