THE ROLE OF THE DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Manage, along with other Digital Team members the day-to-day responsibilities of the Digital Department. This would include but is not limited to: Working with the Digital Department staff to ensure all client related social media posts are posted on time; track and monitor social response and flag any key issues/opportunities; ensure customer responses are received, addressed and resolved within the Agency’s remit; and ensure that all posting schedules and reports are delivered to a professional standard as per client and agency expectations.
  • Build brands’ social presence across key platforms (Primarily, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok) as defined for each brand. 
  • Create and manage a monthly content marketing calendar for all digital clients.
  • Work closely with the Creative Department and Client and Media Services to service client needs and proactively develop social media content that can generate leads, create conversations and enhance engagement with our clients’ social media pages.
  • The individual will be responsible for proactively researching and proposing new media and opportunities to broaden the scope of our digital services, and push our thinking on how to offer a best-in-class social media experience for each brand.
  • Lead and write social media briefs & content strategy briefs for brands and develop sections or RFPs which require a social media strategy.
  • This role also works closely with internal teams to ensure all necessary materials are received and set-up is complete to launch campaigns on-time. 
  • Closely monitor campaign pacing to ensure all campaigns deliver effectively.
  • Assist Finance in billing executions and discrepancies.
  • Organize and manage weekly campaign status meetings and distribute, when necessary, write ups for internal teams (provide status on all live campaigns).
  • Review and provide feedback on agency creative content before posting; Ensure all content is within brand & legal guidelines and uses right tone of voice and approach for brand. 
  • Review analytics with management. Lead recommendations for future actions and improvements to optimize performance. 
  • Define success for our social marketing programs and set benchmarks to measure impact. 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least two years working experience in a media related agency handling social media management and content creation
  • Training and certification in Digital Communications and/or Social Media management would be an asset
  • Advertising agency experience would be an asset
