Business Development Lead

Business Development Lead reports to Progressive MD

Background / Experience required
  • 3-5 years field sales experience. Ideally has been recognised for consistently meeting/exceeding sales specific KPI’s.
  • Proven track record in identifying the decision maker from large corporates to smaller family owned and run businesses, to enable for tailored product / service pitches to win repeat and new business.
  • Solid experience in active listening to understand the needs of a prospective new client, handling and managing objections, highlighting features, benefits and unique selling points to compete with and obtain a competitive advantage over similar products/services. Out of the box thinker with the ability to customise solutions to win new business.
 
Key Duties/Responsibilities
  1. New Business Development
    1. Develop strategies to prospect for potential new clients – looking for local and regional trends in recruitment across the public and private sector
    2. Identify the decision makers within the client organization, making contact at the right time to ensure a pipeline of opportunities.
    3. Plan approaches and pitches. Develop targeted proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
    4. Research and build relationships with new clients
    5. Set up meetings/calls between client decision makers and the company’s practice leaders/principals
    6. Source/identify potential Leads for:
      1. Advertising on JTT
  2. Direct hires/permanent vacancies at all levels for JTT and Progressive
  3. Shortlisting for JTT
  4. Prepare all weekly / fortnightly / monthly reports for sales pipeline and share with GM :
    1. Competitor contract renewal
    2. New Leads
    3. New Opportunities
    4. Lost Clients/Opportunities
  5. Retaining existing clients - present full suite of products and services to enhance existing relationships.
  6. Pitch competitor clients at least 3 months before renewal and conduct market research to submit compelling proposals.
  7. Liaise with and support Social Media Executive to produce relevant material to promote and market all lines of business across all social media platforms.

Qualifications:
  • 5 CXC passes, including Maths and English 
  • Degree or Diploma in Business Management, HRM or Sales/Marketing will be an asset.
