VMO organizations are becoming strategic in nature and expected to drive the realization of the full potential of their global business services contracts and vendor relationships. As part of the Avasant Managed Governance Services (MGS) practice, the Vendor Management and Governance Analyst provides MGS services to clients seeking to optimize the management and governance of their vendors and corresponding contracts.

Key functions of this position include: vendor contract management, vendor financial analysis, vendor performance management, vendor risk management, analysis and reporting, and vendor relationship management. 
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Prepare and deliver analyses and reports to meet the needs of client  
  • Maintain relevant data in the governance tool and/or library, as appropriate  
  • Provide input and insight into opportunities for MGS process optimization and continuous improvement  
  • Perform/assist with VMO contract management responsibilities such as: monitoring contract issues, writing and reviewing contract changes and tracking the status of contract deliverables  
  • Perform/assist with VMO performance management responsibilities that include: monitoring, auditing and reporting vendor performance metrics and service provider service levels  
  • Perform/assist with VMO financial management responsibilities such as auditing vendor/service provider invoices and tracking invoice payments  
  • Perform/assist with VMO relationship management responsibilities such as: participating in vendor/service provider governance meetings, taking minutes of those meetings & following up on their action items as well as administering service provider customer satisfaction surveys  
  • Ensure performance service level compliance and reporting  
  • Support MGS process execution  
  • Support development of service provider, client and MGS dashboards and reports  
  • Support MGS process status reporting  
  • Support executive summary reporting  
  • Risk and issue reporting  
  • Reporting of internal service level performance  
  • Conduct analysis, trends and benchmarking  
  • Support process auditing  
  • Participation in various managed, contract, operational and governance meetings  
  • Coordination with relevant business areas (e.g. Procurement, Legal, IT, etc.) for governance-related matters  
  • Support management and maintenance of the governance library  
  • Enable existing VMO staff to be more strategic to the business  
  • Enable existing client vendor governance staff to be more strategic to the business  
 
Educational, Experience & Other Requirements 
  • Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Technology 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both written and verbal (English) 
  • Experience in developing statements of work, financials, and service levels for sourcing relationships, considered an asset 
  • Project Management experience, an asset 
  • Self-directed and proactive with the ability to follow directives 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple critical initiatives simultaneously 
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones/geographies 
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in PowerPoint & Excel 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and client-facing skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and ability to gain the confidence and respect of customers 
  • Minimum of one year of practical experience in vendor, procurement, contract, or information technology service management  
  • Experience in business process outsourcing (BPO) or IT outsourcing (ITO) operations, considered an asset
