Job Title: Sales Consultant
Reports To: Manager – Integrated Workplace Design
Department: Integrated Workplace Design  

 
Purpose
To identify and create business opportunities, sell products/services/solutions in alignment with department expectations to meet company revenue and profit targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Delivers service excellence daily in keeping with ABSL Philosophy.
  • Achieves mutually agreed goals and assigned sales targets.
  • Secures sales of the Company’s core business products, services and solutions such as Systems / Office Furniture and Seating, Storage Solutions, Office Outfitting (interior renovations).
  • Drives revenue pipeline development activities to uncover and develop opportunities and for new existing accounts.
  • Manages sales pipeline and reports on forecast at Department meetings or when required.
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for all assigned accounts. Leads customers through the sales cycle from initial contact to closure as well as ensures timely resolution for any outstanding issues. 
  • Monitors and reports on AR status, collects outstanding payments and assists in minimizing receivables exposure.
  • Reviews and confers with customers on submitted floor plan layouts for preparation of quotations, presentations, tenders and correspondence to customers.
  • Consistently reviews the competitive activity and offerings in the market.
  • Maintains and develops industry and product knowledge as it relates to the Company’s business.
  • Attends all relevant personal and technical training when required.
  • Prepares and submits all weekly and monthly Progress Reports and any other required reports to Management in the required timeframe.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned.

  • Attends department and other meetings.
  • Provides accurate customer information for invoice preparation and registering of new accounts.
  • Assists in annual and periodic stock counts.
  • Ensures compliance with HSSE standards, practices and applicable legislation.

  • Seven (7) CXC or A-Level Passes, Project Management OR any related combination of qualifications and experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of sales experience in this industry will be an asset
  • Experience in consultative selling will be an asset
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Office Outfitting or architectural industry will be an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to establish business relationships at all levels
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies for account penetration
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to negotiate
