CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

JOB SUMMARY
Acts as a liaison between sales representative and customers.  Quotes rates, assists with bookings, follows-up on customer complaints, traces cargo, initiates FCNs, releases documents on southbound/inter-island shipments and responds in a timely manner to customer inquires.  Researches, follows up and maintains current customer accounts.
 
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides current and prospective clients with information on Tropical's services and policies.
  • Quote rates and changes to customers.
  • Answers customers' inquiries relative to goods received.
  • Monitors the accounts of customers and provides information on status of shipments when  requested.
  • Maintains and updates all of Tropical's tariffs and consignee's file system.
  • Maintains timely , accurate, and efficient response to customer inquiries.
  • Works with tariff and prepares quotations quickly and accurately.
  • Maintains cleanliness and is well attired and groomed when performing as an agent of Tropical Shipping.
  • Performs all other assigned duties.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • CSEX/CXC Passes.
  • Three years work experience in Sales, Customer Service or Traffic.
  • Valid Drivers License.

PHYSICAL:          
Office Environment 
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer.  Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files. 
  • Ability to reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files. 

Education and experience minimums can be substituted with any equivalent combination of training and experience
