Talent Management Support – HINDSIGHT 20/20
The year was 2020, and it started out as the eagerly awaited promised year – all things Vision 2020 and all that. Who would have predicted how the story would turn… in March 2020, COVID-19 arrived on our shores and we had to re-think all our business operations. We had to be agile and creative and focus on value delivery. What we quickly realized was that there were still recruitment needs and clients to support – these may have varied from the core Executive Recruitment or Job Posting that we were accustomed to… so we adjusted using our core skills and team resources. And support we did – and of course we snuck in some great COVID-19 specials along the way for loyal support.
The newly emerging service for 2020 has been remote talent management support. We have split up our core competencies into mini packages that clients have been bundling as their needs and budgets can afford.
Here’s an overview of how we’ve been helping our clients and can help you in 2021.
The clients that we have supported in this way extensively throughout 2020 have been PATT, Textel Credit Union, Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority and T&T National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited. Typically, we used to do this type of outsourced recruitment with the downstream energy operators like bpTT and Atlantic LNG, but the breaking up of the elements of the service has made the service customisable to various budgets.
The key phases are:
- Job Vacancy Advertising : Press and / or online via www.jobstt.com
- Filtering of Ad Response : into a standard template with all applicants recorded and experience/qualifications summarised and colour coded for suitability for ease of review by the HR Team.
- If sufficient qualified ad response is not received, Progressive can then be engaged to do some head hunting.
- Qualifying of Ad Response to get to a Shortlist : remote pre-screening interviews are conducted by our team, short reference checks and bios on the top 8 – 10 candidates are conducted and a report submitted to the HR Team.
- Interview Support: Once the candidates for interview have been selected, we assist with preparing the interview questions, packages, and scoring mechanisms. We also co-ordinate all of the interview schedules and panel information. We can also be available for the onsite/remote interview along with your HR / Operations panel.
- Psychometric Assessments: we can co-ordinate all psychometric assessments using 16 PF Assessment.
- Reference & Medical Checks: we can collate the detailed reference checks and co-ordinate the required medical checks etc.
- Candidate Support: throughout the entire process we manage all communication with the candidates and keep a detailed log of all issues/concerns and the responses.
If all phases were implemented, the process usually takes 6 – 8 weeks to complete – depending on how quickly interviews take place etc. Individual phases are usually about one (1) week each in length, and each phase is costed and bundled together to develop a customised and affordable package. Each client can ‘cherry pick’ what they need and don’t need.
