Job Description:

Job Title: Technical Support Specialist
 
The Technical Support Specialist works as part of the Technical Support Team, implementing solutions in Retail and Hospitality Software. They also provide professional IT support services including, but not limited to networking, equipment configuration and security on LANS and WANS.  They work under the supervision of the Manager – Technical Support.

Responsibilities:
  1. As part of the Technical Support Team, they are responsible for receiving, analyzing, and resolving requests for end user technical support.
  2. Implement, install and configure point of sale software and equipment
  3. Implement accounting, service, and other application software
  4. Implement and maintain Windows networks and security
  5. Maintain technical relevance through continuous training on application software and related computer hardware
  6. Pursue certification in NCR, Microsoft solutions and other related software and equipment
  7. Develop greater knowledge of retail and accounting systems
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. BSc in Information Technology or similar qualification
  2. Knowledge of computer networks; software; database design and reporting
  3. Ability to work well in a team environment.
  4. Analytical skills for problem solving.
  5. Customer support and customer satisfaction skills
  6. Knowledge of point of sale, hospitality and accounting software will be an asset
