JOB PURPOSE
The Manager - Accounting Operations is responsible for managing the daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations for Massy Ltd., Massy Holdings Ltd., Massy Foundation, and three Pension Plans: The Neal and Massy Pension Plan, TGG Staff Savings and Pension Plan, and T Geddes Grant Pension Fund Plan. The role ensures that all financial controls are in place, oversees accurate financial reporting, and manages inter-company billings and insurance portfolios. This position also supports regulatory compliance, financial audits, and reporting for various benefits plans, including ESOP and Medical Plan, while preparing budgets and forecasts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations for Massy Ltd., Massy Holdings, Massy Foundation, and the pension plans.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with IFRS.
- Oversee inter-company billings, including billings for Group Professional Services and Corporate Service Charges.
- Manage the accounting and financial reporting for the pension plans and ensure adequate financial controls are in place for accurate reporting of benefits plans such as ESOP and the Medical Plan.
- Prepare the annual budget package and quarterly forecasts for all entities.
Pension Plan Accounting
- Ensure accurate financial reporting for the pension plans and manage the provision of all financial information for the triennial actuarial valuation.
- Manage regulatory deadlines, including CBTT quarterly reports and cash flow statements, and prepare reports for Trustee Meetings.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure statutory compliance requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage the financial year-end audits for Massy Ltd., Massy Holdings Ltd., Massy Foundation, and the three pension plans.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Team Leadership & Development
- Oversee and review the work performed by direct reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal departments to address and action requests in a timely manner.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and pension plan administrators to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
Insurance Management
- Manage the insurance portfolio for Massy Ltd. (stand-alone entity) and the Massy Group.
- Assist in the procurement process and claims management for the Group's insurances.

- Professional Accounting Qualification (ACCA, CMA)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in financial accounting, with a focus on pension plans and corporate accounting.
- Minimum 4 years working experience in a Senior financial and supervisory position.
- Proven experience managing accounting teams, inter-company transactions, and coordinating with auditors.
SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
The role has the responsibility and is held accountable for meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy for all listed functions. Compliance with statutory and accounting requirements is key.

KEY ADDITONAL INFORMATION
This role also provides the following functions:
- Approve ACH bank payments for vendors of Massy Ltd and MHL.
- Cheque and wire transfer signatory for MHL parent company, Massy Ltd and Massy Foundation
- Approve ACH bank payments for staff dividends, director’s, monthly staff and pensioners payroll
- Super user for online banking for MHL parent, Massy Ltd and Massy Foundation
