Job Description:

Job Title: Temporary Customs Clerk, Grade II

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Temporary Customs Clerk, Grade II provides support on both the Import and Export arms of the Customs department. They use their expertise to expedite customs related processes in pursuit of company goals. This current hire is for a 3-month temporary contract in the first instance. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and own/ have full time access to a well-functioning vehicle. This position is based at the Sea lots, Port of Spain Branch but can involve work at all ports in TnT.
 
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the Export team by preparing documents for export shipments; performing data entry on ASYCUDA and making shipment bookings
• Support the Import team in timely and accurate processing of invoices, bills of lading etc
• Prepare; have reviewed and then submit to Branch Managers weekly briefs on items to be cleared
• Prepare letters; sign customs documents and perform other administrative tasks
• Book containers on NAVIS on an as needed basis; then forward information to the relevant authorized manager responsible, keeping records of all exports and imports.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports on E.T.A’s for imports and other matters as requested
• Apply for licenses on TTBizlink
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation
• Any other duties that are assigned by management as per job function

 
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must be a qualified/ certified Grade 2 Customs Clerk
• Certified/ demonstrated strengths in using the full Microsoft Office Suite
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in customs oriented position.
• Experience in shipping
• Should be trained in Ace and Asycuda.
• Goal Oriented, Team Player and self-motivated
