Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join us as In store Security Personnel. Our In-store Security Personnel maintains a safe and secure environment for employees and customers, and protects the company’s property at whichever branch to which he or she has been assigned. Work is done on site at our Sealots Branch, during normal working hours (Monday to Friday: 730am to 500pm; Saturday: 730am to 230pm)

Key Responsibilities Include:

On an impromptu/ randomized basis, assist with the checking of any vehicles entering and leaving the compound, and monitor the entrance and departure of employees, customers and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
Support the external security contractor in the opening and closing of the store
To assist in security checks of staff when they are entering and leaving the compound
Verify items on customer bills for any discrepancy and ensure that all copies of bills are signed off
Monitor restricted areas of the properties as well as monitor customer and employee actions and movements
Review both the interior and the exterior of the properties via electronic channels
Advise on improvements to the store’s security infrastructure
General patrolling of the store and participation in radio communication
Communicate all breaches of security and safety in a timely manner to the Director or other delegated person
Enforce company’s safety rules and regulations and report on any improper use of company’s equipment and material
Support Management in mitigating against tense staff interactions
Support the investigation of incidents as requested
To observe and adhere to ALL Occupational Safety and Health regulations as per company policy

Job Requirements:

Desired Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Must be a qualified estate constable in accordance with the Supplemental Police Act, Chapter 15:02
Must have at least seven (7) years of practical experience and training in a similar capacity, preferably in hardware sales or large scale retail.
Must be able to work without supervision.
Must have great people skills and recognize that the customer is critical to the business of the Company.
Must be a highly confidential person.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
All shortlisted candidates must be able to provide a current Certificate of Character from the TTPS, and be willing to authorize the required background checks.
