Job Title: Datacom Engineer

Location: Trinidad and Tobago

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Datacom Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain our core network infrastructure in Suriname. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in telecommunications engineering and a passion for delivering cutting-edge network solutions.

Responsibilities

• Network Architecture and Design: Develop comprehensive network designs, including high-level and low-level designs, for core network infrastructure.
• Network Deployment: Oversee the installation and configuration of core network equipment according to project specifications and timelines.
• Network Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement network upgrades and enhancements, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Employ advanced monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve network issues, minimizing service disruptions.
• Customer Support: Provide technical assistance to customers, troubleshoot network problems, and deliver timely solutions.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed network documentation and generate regular performance reports for stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of core communication technologies, including 3G and 4G.
• Proven ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve network issues.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
• Certifications in wireless network technologies or vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Huawei HCIA/HCIP) are highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network design tools and simulation software.
• Knowledge of network security best practices.
• Experience in project management.
