Position Title: Inventory Manager
Department: Logistics

POSITION SUMMARYThe Inventory Manager leads and motivates the Warehouse Inventory Team to deliver results in key areas of inventory management, safety, quality and budgetary controls. The incumbent will also be responsible for reducing costs by optimizing space and container loads, enhancing productivity and maintaining the standards of general housekeeping. The incumbent ensures that team members operate efficiently to meet performance and efficiency goals.

RESPONSIBILITES
- Manage, coach and motivate the Warehouse Inventory Team through effective leadership, motivation, mentorship, training and development and performance management. Ensure that everyone is working towards a common goal of job excellence and continuous improvement.
- Manage, monitor and control inventory in semi-finished and finished goods, spares and all raw materials which includes but is not limited to inventory control, warehousing, traceability and material handling and transportation.
- Work closely with the production, supply chain and distribution Teams to ensure productivity/ quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Coordinate and collaborate with various organizational units including production, supply chain and distribution teams to control the order cycle. Evaluate deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyze daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Manage schedules of employees, deliveries and shipments to optimize operations.
- Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics.
- Monitor demand and analyzes data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
- Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.
- Manage the recruitment and training of new inventory employees.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Measure, monitor and present warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which includes but is not limited to: inventory accuracy, turnover indices, warehouses utilization, timely deliveries, management of department costs and budgets.
- Optimize the administration of planning and logistics management for locally produced and imported finished products.
- Utilize various tools, e.g. order management system, production planning methods and optimization models, to support decisions.
- Monitor quality, quantity, cost and efficiency for the movement and storage of inventory Stock Keeping Units (SKUs)/parts.
- Use cost optimization approaches to aid in order placement and stock decisions.
- Collaborate with various organizational units to develop solutions if unplanned events impact customer deliveries.
- Manage and monitor consumptions and forecast to optimize the order and stock of SKUs.
- Analyze existing processes and propose improvements and new methods to control costs and enhance customer service levels and satisfaction.
- Be an effective channel within the Company to promote and ensure teamwork and operational effectiveness.
- Lead and control the 5S Program; raise awareness about the importance of compliance with the 5S program. Set-up and maintain layout to guarantee efficient space utilization.
- Monitor the compliance of the audit plan and action plans.
- Support and participate in the Company’s Value Creation Programme (VCP) and Idea Factory Programme.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Exhibit the highest standard of professionalism and ensure compliance with all applicable procedures and protocols of the organization.
- Adhere to (and actively promote among all Operations employees) and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies.
- Identify and report unsafe operations and conditions; immediately bring unsafe acts to the attention of team members; operate in a safe manner, use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
- Report and update management on any accidents or near misses and follow all the relevant actions to completion.
- Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of six (6) years’ progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Distribution in an FMCG environment, with at least three (3) years at a Supervisory level.
- Experience with a Business Planning & Control System (BPCS).
- Experience utilizing WMS and RF technology.
