Job Description:

Job Title: Mini Mart Cashier

Job Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the mini mart. This role involves handling cash, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean and organized cashing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greets customers with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Assists customers (verbally) in locating specific products.
• Operate the cash register and accurately process customer transactions (cash, credit/debit cards).
• Counts verifies and determines acceptability of payment and issues receipts for amounts received.
• Conducts refunds according to store policies.
• Conducts cash pay-outs for the purchasing of goods.
• Keeps the cashing area clean and organized, and informs Manager of stock shortages in cashing area.
• Assists in stocking shelves in cashing area.
• Be vigilant for signs of theft and other suspicious activities and reports said activities to managament
• Balances cash and other stocks in possession at the end of the day.
• Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be friendly, polite and people-oriented
• Basic math skills for handling cash and transactions.
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale system in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• 3 CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English Language.
• Minimum of 1 year cashing experience in a similar environment.

• Certificate of character requirement
• 2 forms of identification
