Job Description:

Department:                          Accounts

Position:                                 Stock Room Clerk

Reports To:                            Accounting Manager                         Responsible for the receiving, unloading  and/or unpacking of merchandise and marking of merchandise with identification codes, stocking of shelves in stockrooms and providing support to the Accounts Department in its daily activities.

Duties:

• Assist in the management and organization of stockroom materials as per delivery schedules
• Assist in the receipt and verification of shipped materials against invoices
• Ensure accuracy in physical verification of stock
• Assist in the physical verification and counting of stock to detect shortages
• Assist in the physical inspection of products and merchandise for defects or damages
• Assist in the safe and secure handling of stockroom merchandise, products and materials
• Ensure compliance of procedure in handling of stock
• Assist in the management and organization of stockroom materials as per delivery schedules
• Assist in the dispatching of products from the stockroom  as per material requisitions
• Enter stockroom data in appropriate databases
• Assist in the updating of stockroom records and statements periodically
• Assist in clerical duties
• Bag and pack items for delivery to respective Branches
• Must be able to lift over 40 lbs

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) CXC passes including English Language and Mathematics
• At least two (2) years prior experience working in a stock room environment
• Accounting experience would be an asset
