Job Description:

JOB TITLE: MARKETING ASSISTANT

DEPARTMENT: MARKETING

REPORTS TO: KEEGAN BANEY – MARKETING MANAGER
 
Job Purpose
The Marketing Administrative Assistant will provide essential support to the Marketing Department at Value Optical by managing administrative tasks, coordinating marketing activities, and assisting in the execution of marketing campaigns. This role ensures the smooth operation of daily marketing functions, including scheduling, data management, external talent coordination, and customer engagement support.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize marketing files, reports, and documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of marketing presentations and reports.
• Track and process invoices, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
• Support the execution of marketing campaigns, promotions, in-store activations, sponsorship events, Community outreach programs, customer loyalty initiatives and engagement programs.
• Assist in the distribution of marketing materials to various branches as required.
• Coordinate with vendors, agencies, and media partners to ensure timely delivery of promotional assets.
• Monitor inventory levels for promotional items and manage reorders as needed.
• Assist in managing both email and direct mail marketing campaigns and customer databases.
• Assist with market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.
• Maintain and update marketing contact lists and databases.
• Coordinate logistics for event setup, including promotional materials, staffing, and vendor management.
• Handle correspondence, scheduling meetings, and taking minutes.
• Occasionally drive to branch locations, vendors, or event sites as required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2-3 years' experience in Marketing or similar capacity.
• Five (5) CSEC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
• Proficient in the use of Excel / Word applications.
• Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a fast paced, customer-driven environment will be an asset.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience.
