Job Title: OPTOMETRIST/CLINICAL APPLICATION SALES SPECIALIST

Company Profile:
Our Company is a niche Pharmaceutical and Instrumentation Company that specializes in eye products is expanding its operations. We are seeking to employ an Optometrist to ensure our clients' and our company’s needs are met by promoting, presenting, demonstrating and selling all equipment /instrument, optical accessories and consumables under the company’s portfolio.
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals (Dry Eye Medication), Optical Equipment, Optical Testing Accessories and consumables business portfolio.
• Conduct Application Training on Optical equipment – Phoropters, Autorefractors, Lensmeters, Slit Lamps, OCTs, Visual Fields.
• Understand working knowledge/ application of all optical equipment and must be able to explain to Optometrists/Ophthalmologists all features/benefits and Clinical Application of using the ophthalmic equipment.
• Assist customers with product selection by utilizing selling skills and product knowledge.
• Actively seek out new sales opportunities for potential sales through cold calling, visits, networking, travelling and social media.
• Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
• Analyze leads and apply sales strategies to close the sale.
• Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services.
• Research competitors and provide competitive analysis with recommendations.
• Analyze the Sales Progression of each customer and sales trend of product.
• Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
• Must be able to work with the different teams within the company to achieve the company’s objective. 
• Prepare and submit on a timely basis weekly and monthly reports.
• On-going training and development on all pharmaceutical products, optical equipment, instrumentation and accessories.
• Participate in Continuing Education programs – What’s New in Optometry & Ophthalmology.
• Travel to Regional and International countries for sales and application training.

Competencies:

• Must have excellent knowledge of Ocular Pathology and how to use all types of Optical/Ophthalmic equipment.
• Must have Refractive and Clinical knowledge.
• Understand the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Ophthalmology.
• Understand the features & benefits of equipment.
• Understand working knowledge or application of OCT/Retinal Cameras
• Must know how to address questions relating to user errors, techniques of using optical/ophthalmic equipment and Troubleshooting with Biomed Team.
• Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Emphasizing Excellence, Prospecting Skills, Meeting Sales Goals, Creativity, Planning meetings, Independence, Motivation for both Application & Sales.
• Must possess own vehicle in good working order.
• Perform product demonstrations, assist with installations and application support.
• Design, implement, and execute short and long-term sales strategies that will result in growth.
• Must have a valid passport & US visa and be willing to travel regionally and internationally.

Work Experience and Qualification:

• Two (2) year’s working experience as an Optometrist will be an asset.
• Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Optometry (4 year program).
