Job Description:
The Completion Engineer (CE) will deliver assured world-class completion detailed designs and programs to the line of business, incorporating local/regional/location and activity specific requirements. This position must drive strong collaboration with local and global Wells expertise and coordinate support and input for wells during all well delivery process phases, while also continuing to build own specialist expertise, and providing coaching and mentoring for the team.
The CE is responsible for Well Designs in accordance with the well delivery process, Wells Manuals, and assurance requirements. The CE ensures the well planning & delivery leverages standard content, collaborating with the Operations and Franchise teams to ensure continuous improvement of the standard practices. The CE leads value creation events the well delivery process to improve well design and implements new technologies as applicable. The CE utilizes available digital tools to facilitate workflow efficiencies throughout detailed design.
Other dimensions include actively promoting HSSE and Sustainable Development (SD) in detailed design activities. The successful candidate will lead HSSE and performance management of contractors in Contract Holder and/or Contract Owner roles as required.
The role has a regional remit and involves stakeholders internal and external to Wells and will specifically require working across company boundaries.
Responsibilities include:- Office based with the expectation of wellsite visits, supplier shop visits, and additional travel when required for critical Well operations.
- Responsible for developing well engineering solutions through the Well Delivery Process (WDP), working with a project team to realize opportunities and manage risks.
- Ensuring all well activities are budgeted, planned & designed to applicable standards, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and full consideration of HSSE & sustainability goals.
- Lead and/or participate in technical and business initiatives that furthers the capabilities of the organization, drive continuous improvement, enhance well design & well execution.
- Actively drive the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies and the opportunities to optimize field operations
- Lead the technical and HSSE management of relevant service provider contracts and support the contracting and procurement strategy. Collaborate with contractors regarding performance, future plans, variances, etc. as needed
- Understand and embed contracting strategy into design, programming & execution of completion scope. Leverage contract management team (CMT) to improve commercial agreements where possible. Track value leakage and vendor performance throughout execution and feedback to the CMT for BPR and contract changes
- Preparation of detailed cost and time estimates, tracking of relevant metrics during job execution, after action reviews (AAR) documentation, well handover to production, and developing subsequent improvement plans
Job Requirements:
Recommended Experience:- Engineering degree
- Round 2 Certificate or Round 2 Diploma or equivalent
- Significant experience in completion activities (10+ years), with a proven track record in well design and execution delivery. Experience in open hole gravel packing operation is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries to effectively implement new ways of working, both within Wells and across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience developing a strong HSE culture with expertise in managing Process Safety, Personal Safety and MOC (Management of Change).
- Strong stakeholder integration and influencing skills. Proven ability to build relationships effectively and to deliver across global teams and multiple disciplines, in multiple countries.
