Job Description:
A leading transport company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet and Equipment Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of its fleet and equipment assets. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of the company’s transport assets while managing a team of technical professionals in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the technical team, providing technical guidance and supervision.
- Oversee the scheduling and subsequent preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of heavy diesel as well as light fleet and related mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal maintenance standards.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules, budgets, and cost control measures.
- Coordinate inspections and certifications with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
- Champion health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align maintenance activities with operational needs.
- Monitor KPIs such as downtime, repair turnaround, and cost efficiency.
- Manage inventory of critical spare parts and ensure timely procurement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an A-Class Mechanic with heavy diesel units.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a fleet maintenance environment.
- Proven expertise in engine and gearbox rebuilding is a strong asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management systems.
- Experience with fleet management software and maintenance tracking systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
