Job Description:

Job Title: Assistant Accountant
 
Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Accountant (Grade 3) in the Financial Accounting department at the Company.The successful candidate will report to the Manager.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs the monthly and quarterly accounting for the DAF portfolio
• Assists with the monthly, quarterly accounting and reporting and other segregated pension funds.
• Co-ordinates the annual audits of these pension funds.
• Assists with the monthly and quarterly accounting for the investment properties
• Assists with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the mutual funds which operate in Trinidad & Tobago.
• Assists with the monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting for the investment portfolio
• Functions as a back up mortgage processor
• Performs any other related duties and handles special projects as requested by management.

 
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Education/ Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Level 2 ACCA and at least two years’ experience in an accounting environment.
• Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving, numeracy and analytical skills.
• The ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-oriented environment.
