JOB OVERVIEW:
The Investment Officer - Mortgages &/ Investment Administration supports the Team Leader by performing all operational duties and tasks required in the provision of asset management services to clients as identified in their service level agreements with the company.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Investment
1. Administer the local and overseas investment portfolios for all portfolios under management by the company. 
  • Monitor all bank accounts daily.
  • Prepare net asset value (NAV) calculations.
  • Prepare all pricing sheets and price analysis sheets for upload onto the investment software.
  • Perform all administrative duties involved in the buying and selling of securities for all portfolios under management.
  • Arrange for the collection and recording of all Income/Dividend payments due for all portfolios under management. 
2. Prepare reports required for the completion of financial statements and regulatory submissions to the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and Investment and Lending Committee meetings.
  • Prepare all investment reports required for the completion of financial statements.
  • Prepare all regulatory reports.
  • Prepare summary reports and other analytical reports.
  • Prepare all audit reports required by both internal and external auditors.
  • Prepare analytical reports required for supporting AM Best ratings for the life insurance companies
3. Review and reconciles all ledger accounts, ensuring agreement with Investment software and third-party statements on a monthly basis. 

4. Provide any ad-hoc analysis required to assist management in the administration of the portfolio. 

5. Participate in testing new functionality and hot fixes within the company’s software when requested.

6. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Team Leader.

Mortgages
1.    Administer the Mortgage Portfolio of Guardian Life of the Caribbean Limited.
  • Underwriting mortgage applications
  • Monitor and engage in the recovery of funds from delinquent mortgagors. 
  • Ensure all properties are covered under home-owners insurance.
  • Prepare Receivership Documents

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
  • 5 CXC/CSEC Passes including Mathematics and English Language and Accounts.
  • 2 A’ Level/ CAPE Passes.
  • CAT or ACCA level 1 or pursuing same.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a Financial Services Environment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
  • As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 
The Investment Officer must be organized, methodical, articulate, and self-confident. The individual must possess the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment. He/She must be self-driven and must be able to deliver high quality work with minimum supervision while displaying strong work ethics. The ideal candidate must welcome new challenges and be able to adapt to a changing environment.
