Position Title: Operating Technician

Company Profile:
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund Holding Company Limited (NIFHCL), the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT). The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea and supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.

Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following contract position: 

Job Purpose:
This position will safely operate and monitor plant equipment, isolate and de-isolate plant equipment for maintenance activities, retrieve plant data and perform corrective actions when necessary to ensure the achievement of established corporate goals and commitments.

Location: Plant - La Brea

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract - 2 years

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of five 5 O' levels (Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry) and accredited Diploma in PPO, MET, EEET, IEET. Or BSc. Mechanical, Chemical & Process or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of two (2) years in operations in a petrochemical or power plant environment. Preferably through a formal trainee program
