Job Purpose:
The jobholder is responsible for delivering project construction execution activities for the company. He/she will also ensure that all Project Execution Processes for the department are developed, documented, embedded and fully aligned with the Company Value Process requirements. He/she will be responsible for ensuring that detailed resource loaded job plans, schedules, work packs and approved risk assessments are delivered such that project execution activities can be executed safely and performance managed based on the established key performance indicators within the organization, in line with global benchmarks.
The jobholder functions in an environment that is fast paced and dynamic and is required to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments and work priorities The department achieves its objectives with support from a number of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) for Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services; the incumbent will be required to leverage the MSAs or other external contractors providing services to build his/her supporting team and execute work.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ensures readiness to deliver Project activities safely and within scheduled time and budget, by ensuring that a construction process is in place, documented and fully integrated and aligned with the Company standard.
- Develops short-term and long-term execution plans, based on the Engineering and Project scopes and Production opportunities, which form part of the individual Projects Plan, as well as the Projects Department strategic outlook. Develops overall detailed Plan for Projects covering facility activities and integrating it into the Production plans and Company Integrated Activities.
- Leads the Project Execution team during execution of all project activities including TARs or other plant outage events, ensuring overall performance by establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and directing Execution. Maintains the Project Construction, TAR/Shutdown and Maintenance requirements that govern the project execution work.
- Develops a collaborative environment with key stakeholders, particularly TAR/SD, Production (Maintenance and Operations), Commercial and Strategy, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, HSSE and the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM)Master Services Agreement (MSA) Service Providers, ensuring that all parties are informed of the Project Execution activities’ progress before, during and after all projects, inclusive of Turnaround, Shutdown or Plant outage events.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:
- An undergraduate Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized, accredited institution.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in Project Execution activities, at least seven (7) of which should be in the Oil and Gas industry, with a minimum of three (3) years’ at a supervisory level.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified or an equivalent certification from a recognized, accredited institution.
- OR
- A Technician’s Diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized, accredited institution.
- A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in Project Execution activities, at least seven (7) of which should be in the Oil and Gas industry, with a minimum of five (5) years’ at a supervisory level.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certified or an equivalent certification from a recognized, accredited institution.
- AND
- Knowledge of the AVP Stage Gate process for Project Development and the use of Economic Appraisal, capital sanctioning and Risk Analysis processes in Projects.
- Knowledge and experience in the following:
- administering contracts for executing Project activities
- in applying management processes used for identification, assessment, and control of risks.
- in computerized planning and project management tools.
