JOB SUMMARY
The Team Lead, Credit Administration oversees the Credit Administration department’s deliverables and activities. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing Commercial and Retail loan transactions; facilitating adherence to credit policies, procedures, and compliance through effective leadership of the Credit Administration Team and successful interactions with stakeholders. Objectives will be met through the implementation of processes as MFGFC’s second line of defence, whilst being mindful of contributing towards positive client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Administration Management
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the Credit Administration team, ensuring the team is appropriately trained, motivated, and performing at optimal efficiency
- Develop and implement strategies to improve credit administration processes and procedures
- Ensure that credit applications are being processed in accordance with all MFGFC’s policies & procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
- Work collaboratively with other departments, including loan officers and Credit Risk Adjudicators to ensure seamless coordination of credit administration activities
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Review and where applicable, perform daily audits of all new loans booked to ensure that they match the approved structure, terms and conditions
- Generate reports to provide guidance on credit risk adjudication, transaction management and collections for Commercial and Retail loan products
- Create and maintain reports that improve the organisation’s understanding of its transaction management processes and the Loan Life Cycle
- Compile timely and accurate reporting of credit-related data to management
- Customer Experience
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, stakeholders, and external partners
- Scan the environment for any emerging conditions in the environment that might make it necessary to review legal and other documentation used for onboarding of customers and arrangement of loans
- Design processes for transaction management that generate positive end-customer experiences for commercial and retail clients
- Provide oversight regarding the client onboarding process and continually test the relevant controls to ensure reliability of the process
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Finance or related discipline
- A Paralegal qualification would be an asset
- A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in Credit Administration or related roles in a financial institution, bank, or lending company
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a Compliance or Compliance related role would be an asset
- Strong knowledge of credit policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven knowledge and experience in the understanding, application and execution of:
- Commercial and retail loan transactions
- Financial products, risk management, credit policies and regulatory compliance (AML/ATF)
- MS Office Suite
- Ability to work effectively, build and maintain relationships with multi-faceted teams and multiple stakeholders
- High level of confidentiality and integrity with the ability to establish credibility
- Ability to use initiative, work independently, adapt and exercise sound judgement in decision making
- Expert organization, delegation, communication, planning, analytical and detail-oriented
