JOB OVERVIEW:
The Reinsurance Analyst is responsible for monitoring the group’s risk exposure within all territories that we operate through the careful placement of reinsurance along with the effective governance and control regarding reinsurance terms and conditions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reinsurance Treaty Administration
- Collect and prepare all treaty renewal information and ensure accuracy and complete relevant analysis for proposing enhancements to the treaties.
- Set up and maintain relevant WebStar specifications with exception report monitoring.
- Monitor the various classes of business to ensure adherence to reinsurance treaty terms and conditions and company guidelines.
- Collate and monitor information related to Inward Treaty arrangements.
- Liaise with international reinsurance brokers on queries, requests or concerns regarding the treaties.
- Analysis and Reporting
- Prepare and review relevant monthly and quarterly reinsurance reports.
- Assist with the roll out of all reinsurance facilities.
- Assist operations on reinsurance related transactions and WebStar set up.
- External Reporting
- Prepare the requested information by rating agencies, regulators and auditors.
- Create ad-hoc reinsurance reports, presentations and reinsurance program summaries.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 1st Degree in a business-related discipline or Diploma in CII or any equivalent qualification.
- 5 CXC/ CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language
- 2 A’ Level/ CAPE passes
- At least 3 years in the General Insurance Industry
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

The Reinsurance Analyst must be self-motivated and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. This individual must be a logical thinker, pro-active and responsible person with the ability to meet strict deadlines. He/she must have strong work ethics with an emphasis on Integrity and Confidentiality, demonstrate a professional service provider attitude; possess a team player spirit and willing to go the extra mile.
