DESCRIPTION

To plan, direct and co-ordinate the information technology activities; to advise on the feasibility of the introduction and/or expansion of various technological options and to make appropriate recommendations for the efficient and effective management of the information systems to accomplish the Corporation’s strategic objective.

ICT TECHNICIAN:

KEY FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Advises the Management team on the use of information technology to meet the Corporation’s strategic objectives

Ensure that the Corporation’s networking systems are Supported and maintain efficiently

Must be able to facilitate online meetings and training.

Serve as a point of contact for staff seeking technical assistance over the phone or email or on premise

Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel

Perform infrastructure/cabling support from time to time.

Location Visits for IT support as needed

Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related discipline

CCNA Certification would be an asset

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

At least three (3) years in a similar position with expertise in database management, networking, virtualization, internet/intranet technologies, servers and operation system management.

Experience with working in teams, documentation and culture transformation is desirable

Strong knowledge of networking protocols and software (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, DHCP etc)

Strong troubleshooting skills

Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products

Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users

Required Competencies:

Ability to work on own initiative

Proficiency in the use of computer software applications

Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and without constant supervision

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to demonstrate tact, confidentiality and professionalism in the execution of duties

Flexibility to work weekends If required

Must own a vehicle.
