Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Accountant to manage the daily financial operations of our restaurant, with a strong emphasis on tracking cash sales and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily Cash Reconciliation:
o Record and reconcile all daily cash sales, credit card transactions, and other payments.
This will be done against system generated settlement report
o Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure proper documentation of all cash inflows and outflows.
o Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in cash reports. Exception report to be submitted to Senior manager daily. 
o Recommend improvements in cash handling procedures and financial controls.

Bookkeeping and Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Data entry of settlement reports, all invoices and payments.
o Prepare journal entries and update general ledger accounts.

 Financial Reporting:
o Generate daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports i.e. sales summaries
o Assist in budgeting and forecasting restaurant expenses and revenues.

Payroll and Vendor Payments:
o Process employee weekly and fortnightly payroll and ensure timely payment of wages.
o Track and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
o Liaise with suppliers and ensure timely payments and proper invoice documentation.

 Compliance and Auditing:
o Ensure tax requirements are met, filing of VAT returns, quarterly tax payments
o Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documents.

Qualifications:
• Level 1 ACCA

• Proven experience in restaurant or retail accounting, preferably with high cash transactions

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and internal controls.

• Excellent attention to detail and integrity.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with POS systems and cash register audits.

• Knowledge of food and beverage costing
