ACCOUNTS CLERK
Job Background and Title:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the daily financial operations of our organization. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and assisting with a range of accounting tasks that ensure the integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to upholding financial accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions.
Job Summary:
This position provides the opportunity to become part of our financial operations team as an Accounting Clerk, and to gain valuable experience in the accounting field. It involves fulfilling a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for accurately maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with various financial tasks.
Educational Requirements:
● A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be considered an asset
● 2–5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
● Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
● Experience in Task Management Software (e.g. Trello) will be an asset
Responsibilities:
● Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
● Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
● Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
● Assist in preparing and processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
● Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
● Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining financial databases.
● Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
Other Requirements and Competencies:
● Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.
● Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
● Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
● Strong organizational and time management skills.
● Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
