ACCOUNTS CLERK

Job Background and Title:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support the daily financial operations of our organization. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions efficiently, and assisting with a range of accounting tasks that ensure the integrity of our financial data. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to upholding financial accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions.

 Job Summary:

This position provides the opportunity to become part of our financial operations team as an Accounting Clerk, and to gain valuable experience in the accounting field. It involves fulfilling a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. You will be responsible for accurately maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with various financial tasks.

 

Educational Requirements:

      A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be considered an asset

      2–5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

      Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)

      Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

      Experience in Task Management Software (e.g. Trello) will be an asset

 

Responsibilities:

      Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

      Review and reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.

      Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

      Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

      Assist in preparing and processing payroll, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.

      Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

      Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining financial databases.

      Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance

 

Other Requirements and Competencies:

      Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures.

      Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

      Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

      Strong organizational and time management skills.

      Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

      Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

      Strong numeric and data entry skills.

 

      Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
