Main Job Function:

To provide assistance in the implementation of financial strategies to support the Accounting function through

processing and reconciling of a wide variety of accounting documents and systems in accordance with the

Company’s accounting policies and procedures, while ensuring that KCL meets its Accounting mandates and

obligations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Confers with the Management Accountant to plan work schedules according to department’s goals and objectives.

2. Reviews General Ledger and Subsidiary ledgers on an ongoing basis, for completeness and accuracy for use as a basis in preparing financial reports for Management, Board and external parties.

3. Provides support to the Management Accountant to maximize use of Peachtree accounting system to record and report all financial transactions undertaken by the Company.

4. Performs periodic reconciliations of Petty Cash floats maintained at the Project Sites, to ensure conformity to Petty Cash procedures.

5. Reconciles monthly, Project retentions, revenue and costs with the Commercial Department, before finalizing monthly Management Accounts.

6. To assist with reconciliations and monitoring of the overseas projects.

7. Reconciles monthly, all General Ledger accounts for statutory/employee deductions to ensure on time remittance and recording of such on Peachtree.

8. Reviews all payment vouchers/bank letters for drafts and wire transfers to ensure accuracy of coding and information, before forwarding to the Management Accountant.

9. Assists in the preparation of audit schedules and confirmation requests for the external auditors.

10. Assists in the compilation of financial data required for tender proposals and budget preparation.

11. Reads, understands and complies with the Health and Safety Policy paying attention to all safe work practices and procedures so as not to create a health and safety hazard to yourself or others.

 12. Performs other related duties as may be required by the job function

Education:

• A professional accounting qualification (minimum ACCA or currently pursuing final examination)

• Peachtree Accounting essential

• Advanced Excel applications essential

Experience:

• A minimum of seven (7) years post qualification experience

• Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles and practices

• Construction related accounting experience is highly desirable
