Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, organized and customer-focused Automotive Service Center Clerk to support the day-to-day administrative and customer service operations of a busy automotive service center.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing bills and invoices, maintaining accurate stock and inventory records, coordinating customer appointments and service schedules, and communicating with customers and suppliers by telephone and email. The position also involves cashiering and processing LINX transactions when required.
This is a varied role requiring an individual who can effectively transition between customer service, administration, scheduling, inventory coordination and basic financial transactions while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a high standard of customer service.
Previous experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage; however, candidates with strong administrative, customer service, retail or commercial experience within the private sector will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customer bills, invoices, receipts and other commercial documentation accurately.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records relating to stock, inventory and office supplies.
- Coordinate customer appointments and service schedules.
- Communicate professionally with customers by telephone, email and in person.
- Respond to customer enquiries and provide information regarding appointments and service-related matters.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding stock replenishment and inventory requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ensuring required stock and supplies are available.
- Prepare correspondence and other business communications for external parties.
- Perform cashiering duties and process customer payments when required.
- Process LINX transactions accurately and securely.
- Maintain accurate administrative and transaction records.
- Assist with the general administration and smooth daily operation of the service center.
- Handle multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling customer, financial and business information.
- Occasionally assist with operational activities that may require driving or movement of customer vehicles.
- Perform other reasonable administrative and operational duties as assigned.
