JOB SUMMARY
Assists the Vice President - Group Marketing and Communications to identify and implement public relations programmes to improve media relationships to achieve significant positive awareness, ensuring that the company’s good public image is maintained at all times. The incumbent is also responsible for overseeing and advancing the company’s CSR strategy across its Southern Caribbean operating territories.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications:

·       Develops and implements a clear communications strategy which is integrated with corporate strategy and consistent across all aspects of external and internal communications.–Identifies and implements strategic communications programs to achieve significant awareness for the brand and ensure the company’s good public image is always protected.

-          Creates and implements media outreach programmes designed to improve media relationships with its executives.

-          Actively engages, cultivates, and manages media relationships to push coverage of key activities and programs; creating communication opportunities and celebrating milestones, actively disseminate news about its products and services.

·       Develops effective communications documents for local leadership including public speeches, talking points and presentations.

·       Ensures that the social media and website representative is provided with relevant and current content and information as per agreed.

·       Demonstrates skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and editors to achieve high-impact placements.

·       Supports the positioning of leadership and executives as credible spokespersons in the financial services industry.

·       Monitors press stories relating to the company and its brand and maximizes the opportunity or positive public relations and manages negative press.

·       Oversees, edits, and drafts clear and compelling press releases as needed and monitor placement of same in accordance with the KPI of two media releases per week across markets.

·       Works with business leaders to expertly manage crisis communication.

·       Identifies and implements, where applicable, media trends and opportunities for the improvement of the company’s corporate reputation.

·       Measures and evaluates impact of public relations programming across the company’s Southern Caribbean markets with a view to improving on same.

·       Provides quarterly reports on communications and CSR programs.

Internal Communication

·       Provides expert leadership in the development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of a comprehensive internal communications strategy.

·       Utilizes internal communications strategy to facilitate the development of an appropriate internal culture with particular focus on the company’s strategic products and initiatives.

·       Provides leadership and guidance for division and unit level internal communication.

·       Provides a pulse for communications and protocol around internal communications to ensure companywide projects and programmes are effectively communicated to all levels in the organization.

·       Partners with senior leadership to increase the transparency of communication and flow of strategic information throughout the company.

·       Uses employee feedback to drive improvements to the communications initiatives.

Events Management

·       Works with the marketing team to create events designed to give our clients and employees positive experiences.

·       Works closely with the Marketing Heads to coordinate groupwide activities including client events and internal team events.

CSR:

·       Designs strategic CSR programs, including development of guidelines, eligibility, criteria, timelines, goals, and measurements.

·       Submits strategy on the company’s annual CSR plan as part of the annual overall Communications and CSR plan.

·       Oversees and executes the company’s CSR plan and strategy across its Southern Caribbean operating territories.

·       Measures, evaluates, and reports on the performance of the impact of the company’s CSR plan on its key audiences across its Southern Caribbean operating territories.

·       Contributes to key information for the publication of company’s annual CSR report.

·       Documents via photographs, videography and other multi-media, all CSR activities.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Manages budget as assigned.

·       Performs any other duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Education/Experience:

·       A Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communications, Business Administration, Marketing or related field and a minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ related experience in a management position.

·       Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and organisation skills in order to develop and plan presentations.

·       A general understanding of the political, economic and social environment with demonstrated practical experience in all aspects of mass media. High level of creativity and innovation to implement communications components and contribute to overall communications strategy.

·       Demonstrated ability to work effectively with mid- and senior-level management, in a team and to be self-motivated. Ability to work with a high degree of independence to initiate and complete work assignments.

·       Strong project management skills, experience in event planning.

·       A high proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.

·       Excellent administrative and organisational skills.

·       Previous experience in a financial services environment would be an asset.
