Position Title: Corporate Security Officer 

Location: Plant - La Brea & Corporate Office - Chaguanas


Company Profile:
Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) manages a major fuel-efficient power plant in Trinidad and Tobago. The 720-megawatt (MW) TGU facility is a combined-cycle power plant which is owned by the National Investment Fund Holding Company Limited (NIFHCL), the latter is a wholly owned entity of the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT). The plant is located at the Union Industrial Estate, La Brea and supported by a Corporate Office in Chaguanas.

Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) invites suitably qualified persons to apply for the following contract position: 

Job Purpose:

A risk mitigation strategy to ensure security-centric knowledge abides within the Security department for effective supervision and the proper monitoring of the security environmental conditions.


Job Responsibilities:

•Advise TGU Managers/Supervisors, on the appropriate security measures so as to ensure that standards are maintained consistent with actual or potential threat levels.

•Formulate, direct and supervise security procedures for the protection of:

a. Company personnel/visitors.

b. Company assets, information, property and business operations activities.

•Develop and maintain the professional standards and effectiveness of all subordinate security staff throughout the Company by conducting such inspections and reviews as are necessary for this purpose.

•Control the functions of other security personnel, employees and contractors and those with security responsibilities so as to provide a properly co-ordinated and cost effective service.

•Provide the input and advice necessary for the development, review and updating of the security element of contingency plans throughout the Company.

• Conduct any security enquiry, investigation and survey/review in relation to any aspect of security. The aim of such enquiry, investigation and survey/review being to determine what happened, identify any weaknesses, draw appropriate and supportable conc1usions and make recommendations to prevent any recurrence. (A full Security Review, covering all premises, should be conducted at least once per year.)

• Maintain confidentiality of all company information

• Perform other related duties to support the achievement of the company’s goals and objectives.


Qualifications, Certifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 O’ Level subjects or proof of continued professional development courses.
  • Certification in Security Administration and Management.
  • • At least 10 years overall experience in the Security environment.
