Cost Accounting & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain actual and standard cost data for all products and processes.
  • Obtain and analyse standard vs. actual usage reports and daily production audits.
  • Investigate material, labour, and overhead variances; obtain explanations from operations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Report significant variances to the Executive Team and follow up on resolution.
  • Compile and circulate weekly variance reports with explanations and status updates.
  • Ensure accurate consolidation of financial data across all departments within Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
  • Support month-end close with COGS analysis, inventory valuation and journal entries.
  • Manage the interim and month-end stock counts; reconcile to perpetual inventory and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review month-end cost journals and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, dashboards, and KPIs for senior management.

 Sales Order Management

  •     Supervise the daily order entry activities ensuring accuracy and compliance with company    policies.
  •          Monitor order queues to ensure that orders are not issues are resolved timely.
  •        Collaborate with sales, operations and logistics teams to resolve order discrepancies and ensure smooth fulfilment

 Budgeting & Forecasting

  •   Support the Financial Accountant in computing budgeted cost of sales for input into the company’s annual budget.
  •       Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, product mix optimization, and market expansion.

 Internal Controls and Risk Management

  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Drive automation and digitization of processes to improve efficiency and accuracy with the aim of enhancing business value.

 Cross Functional Collaboration

  •           Participate in sales and operational planning meetings to provide cost insights
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance/ engineering   teams to resolve inefficiencies and reduce waste.
  • Support new product development with cost estimates and margin projections.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to evaluate process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develops a self-sufficient talent pipeline to foster and encourage career progression of direct reports thereby ensuring support for the short- and long-term business needs.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the job function.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CMA, CPA) is strongly preferred.
  • Additional training or certification in cost accounting or manufacturing finance is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
  • Proven experience in standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software.
