KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Environmental Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·      Air Monitoring: monitoring and analysing air samples to assess their quality, identifying pollutants, and developing strategies to mitigate pollution in ambient air.

·   Demonstrate a good understanding of functionality and sampling programs of noise monitoring equipment.

·   Understand the functionality and sampling programs of stack emissions monitoring equipment.

·   Able to execute proper sampling techniques and perform on-site indoor air quality monitoring measurements.

·  Can troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment relating to sampling and data collection.  Perform routine calibration of equipment as necessary.

·     Assist to ensure factory calibration is conducted as needed for all equipment that it is required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

o   A bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or a related discipline

o   Valid and authorized gas testing certificate (AGT)

o   At least 2 years related experience in a similar field  

o   HAZMAT certified

o   Well organized

o   Ability to meet deadlines

o   Good oral and written skills

o   Able to multi task and manage dynamic operations

o   Holder of a manual driver’s license with a valid defensive driving certificate

o   The ability to lift over 50 pounds
