PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Drive the company’s Export business by opening new markets and territories while proactively managing existing customer to achieve specified financial targets. The job holder will identify and capture all business opportunities in Caribbean & International territories by negotiating with distributors ensuring that existing customers are retained and the Company’s position remains profitable. He/she will monitor and ensure timely coordination and execution of a high volume of export container shipments.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Market Development & Growth
• Identify and develop new market opportunities in regional and international markets for the company’s brands.
• Research and evaluate new markets, preparing entry strategies with clear profitability objectives.
• Develop and implement business models for new ventures and market expansion.
• Forecast long- and short-term market potential and recommend strategic actions.
Sales & Contract Management
• Close new business opportunities, negotiate pricing and contracts, and integrate requirements with internal business operations.
• Achieve export sales targets and monitor progress against KPIs.
• Monitor competitor activity and market trends to guide business strategies.
Marketing & Brand Development
• Co-ordinate, plan, and implement marketing initiatives for assigned export markets.
• Introduce and promote company brands in export markets, while supporting local marketing activities to enhance visibility and market share.
• Formulate market strategies through consumer research and analysis of distribution channels.
Customer Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and new distributors.
• Provide ongoing support and engagement with distributors to drive growth.
• Serve as the primary point of contact and lead facilitator with partners for assigned export markets.
Export Operations & Compliance
• Liaise with logistics, production and finance teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Oversee and ensure accuracy of all export documentation (invoices, shipping documents, certificates of origin, customs compliance, etc.).
• Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, legal requirements, and company export policies.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Adopt a hands-on approach in monitoring and evaluating market activities, including regular market visits.
• Prepare monthly progress and export reports for assigned markets.
• Provide insights, forecasts, and recommendations to management based on performance and market intelligence.
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or International Trade
• Minimum of 3 – 5 years' experience in export sales or international business development.
• In-depth understanding of international trade regulations, export documentation, and logistics.
• Proven track record of successful sales strategy and execution.
• Proficiency with MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
• Willingness to travel regionally & internationally as required.
