An inventory clerk for an aluminium extrusion facility tracks, receives, and organizes raw materials, aluminum profiles, and finished goods to maintain accurate stock records.

 

Job Summary

The Inventory Clerk manages stock movements, verifies incoming and outgoing aluminium materials, and reconciles physical inventory with digital records in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Tracking: Record and track inventory levels of raw aluminum billets, dies, extruded profiles, and finished products.
  • Receiving & Inspection: Inspect incoming shipments of raw materials or hardware, checking quantities and quality against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Order Preparation: Pick, pack, and stage completed extrusion orders for dispatch or shipping.
  • Auditing & Reconciling: Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stocktakes, investigating and resolving any inventory variances.
  • Database Management: Update the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or inventory management software with daily stock movements, adjustments, and transfers.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or CXC/CSEC passes (including Mathematics and English); further training in supply chain or logistics is a plus.
  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in an inventory, stockroom, or warehouse environment, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Skills: Strong numerical accuracy, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to organize heavy stock and lift or move materials as required by warehouse operations.
  • Specific safety (HSSE/OSHA) guidelines for handling metal profiles
  • Able to drive the Forklift.
