PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring proper stock control, and supporting efficient warehouse operations. This role involves monitoring stock movements, coordinating material requests and replenishments, reconciling variances, and ensuring that all inventory transactions are recorded accurately within the system to support seamless production and distribution processes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Inventory Management
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the ERP or inventory management system.
• Monitor daily stock levels and coordinate timely replenishment of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
• Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system records.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, reporting any variances or losses to management.
• Track movement of goods between production, warehouse and dispatch areas.
Supply Chain Coordination
• Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, labeling and rotation of materials (FIFO).
• Coordinate with Production and Procurement teams to ensure timely availability of inputs for manufacturing schedules.
• Support inbound and outbound logistics by preparing relevant documentation for stock transfers, deliveries, and returns.
• Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards within the warehouse.
Reporting & Analysis
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly inventory and consumption reports for management review.
• Assist in forecasting material requirements and identifying trends or potential shortages.
• Recommend process improvements for better inventory accuracy and control.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
• Minimum of an Associate Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain or Inventory Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 2–3 years’ experience in inventory management, warehousing or logistics within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or inventory management systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks or similar).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
