Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and trustworthy Junior Accountant to manage the daily accounting operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Cash Reconciliation:
    • Record and reconcile all daily cash sales, credit card transactions, and other payments.
    • Monitor cash handling procedures and ensure proper documentation for all payments.
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in cash reports. Exception report to be submitted to Senior manager daily
    • Recommend improvements in cash handling procedures and financial controls.


  •             Cost and Inventory Control

o   Track cost of goods sold (COGS) from inventory valuation, monitor inventory usage, and help minimize waste and theft

o   Analyze per-item costs against budget

o   Review stock count discrepancies and determine the underlying causes

  • Bookkeeping and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks). Data entry of settlement reports, all invoices and payments
    • Prepare journal entries and update general ledger accounts.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Capable of producing daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to support operational and strategic decision-making
    • Capable of developing, analyzing, and managing restaurant budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring accurate projection of expenses and revenue

  • Payroll and Vendor Payments:
    • Process employee weekly and fortnightly payroll and ensure timely payment of wages.
    • Generate orders based on requests from kitchen and inventory levels
    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
    • Liaise with suppliers and ensure timely payments and proper invoice documentation. Supplier Reconciliations.


  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure tax requirements are met, filing of VAT returns, quarterly tax payments
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documents.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 ACCA
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent attention to detail and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
