Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership within the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) Department. The successful candidate will lead rotating equipment reliability initiatives, mentor engineering staff, and support maintenance optimization across refinery operations.

Key Responsibilities

·        Lead and mentor Mechanical Engineers and Predictive Maintenance Technicians.

·        Improve the reliability, availability and performance of rotating equipment.

·        Lead troubleshooting, root cause investigations and reliability improvement projects.

·        Develop maintenance strategies and support shutdown and turnaround planning.

·        Provide engineering support for equipment upgrades, revamps and new installations.

·        Monitor equipment condition using predictive maintenance technologies.

·        Prepare technical reports, specifications and maintenance plans.

·        Support commissioning, FATs, Management of Change and technical bid evaluations where required.

·        Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection and Project teams.

Technical Competencies

·        Extensive knowledge of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fans, blowers, bearings and mechanical seals.

·        Reliability Engineering including RCA, FMEA/FMECA, RCM and asset criticality.

·        Preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance.

·        CMMS/SAP PM, Maximo or equivalent asset management systems.

·        API, ISO and ASME standards relating to rotating equipment.

Qualifications & Experience

·        Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

·        Minimum 8–10 years' experience in rotating equipment engineering within Oil & Gas or heavy industry.

·        Strong background in reliability and maintenance engineering.

·        Professional certifications such as CMRP or ISO CAT III are an asset.
