Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Hands-On Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of multiple retail outlets and one building facility. This role requires both leadership and practical involvement, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, vendor management, and supervision of maintenance staff. The ideal candidate will have solid technical expertise, proven management experience, and a pleasant temperament to foster strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance operations across all retail outlets and one central building.
  • Perform hands-on repairs and preventative maintenance where required.
  • Supervise and support maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed to high standards.
  • Manage and coordinate outside vendors and contractors for specialised services.
  • Develop and monitor preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure facilities are maintained in compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards.
  • Track maintenance requests, prioritise tasks, and follow up to completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and vendor agreements.
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and quotations for maintenance projects.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance management, ideally within retail or commercial environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
  • Proven experience managing vendors, contracts, and maintenance teams.
  • Hands-on skills to perform general repairs when required.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal ability.
