Maintenance Planner

POSITION SUMMARY

To improve and optimize workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of manpower, parts and materials, and equipment access/availability.

RESPONSIBILITES

  1. Lead and facilitate Mechanical, E&I and Services Planning meetings for weekly schedule creation. 
  2. Lead Outage Planning meetings when required.
  3. Track execution performance and conduct postmortems to generate ‘lessons learnt’ documentation.
  4. Support the execution of emergency work/break-ins.
  5. Participate in Power Suite meetings and send daily factory updates on Power Suite issues. 
  6. Open Work Orders for all job requests and ensure that the Work Order tracking database is accurate and up to date. 
  7. Forward all Outage requisitions with supporting documentation to the Procurement Department. 
  8. Work with the Purchasing Department to track the delivery of all critical parts and material for the execution of Outages. 
  9. Generate all Outage Gantt Charts and update the Senior Team on a weekly basis. 
  10. Participate in and execute scoping, planning and scheduling, and kitting of jobs. 
  11. Generate the Planning Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Outage Critique, Schedule Compliance.
  12. Participate in the development of job Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and A3s.  
  13. Support Engineering/Maintenance Supervision when required. 
  14. Develop and advise on modifications for repairs to ensure continued Converting Operations. 
  15. Prepare any reports or documentation as required. 
  16. Drive proper housekeeping within the Department to Company and OSH standards.  
  17. Demonstrate leadership within the operations, exhibiting the highest standard of professionalism and ensuring compliance to all applicable procedures and protocols of the organization. 
  18. Adhere to (and actively promote among all Operations employees) and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies.
  19. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the IMS.
  20. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned. 

 
EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.


EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of Pneumatics, LV Distribution systems, motors and mechanical drive systems, HVAC systems, PLC Automation, VFD systems.
  • Experience with using planning techniques and tools in preparing jobs for execution.
  • Experience with scheduling techniques and tools in creating maintenance work schedules and Outage Gantt charts.
  • Knowledge of short-term and long-term job planning.
  • Working knowledge of field work performed by Technicians.
  • Ability to specify suitable tools and material for job tasks.
  • Ability to set and maintain leading and lagging KPIs.
