Job Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the waste division. This role ensures that all equipment and machinery are functioning optimally to support efficient operations. The supervisor will lead a team of maintenance technicians and coordinate with other departments to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Assign tasks and monitor the progress of maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities.


Maintenance Operations:

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Ensure timely repairs and maintenance of machinery to prevent operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance to ensure optimal operation.
  • Be available for emergencies and breakdowns outside of working hours.


Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with governmental regulations, HSE policies and procedures, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility among the maintenance team.
  • Keep premises to standards required-  follow documented process


    Budget Management:
  • Monitor labour & inventory to optimise resource allocation to achieve cost-effective operations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to align maintenance activities with service schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers for parts and services procurement.
  • Report on maintenance performance and issues to senior management.


General Conditions: 

  • May require occasional overtime and weekend work to address urgent maintenance needs.
     

    Requirements
  • A relevant technical certification, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in vehicle maintenance. 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft 365
  • They must possess in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures, as well as experience in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
  • Valid driver's permit.  
  • Should possess strong leadership and organisational skills to manage maintenance teams effectively. 
  • Communication skills are essential for coordinating with team members and other departments. Familiarity with regulations and compliance standards.
